How this online marketing course works...

When you join the course you will be prompted to create a username and password. Once you have submitted your order then you will have immediate access.

 

You can access the course anytime by logging in here or clicking on the link you received in your registration confirmation email. 

All modules will be available to you immediately. You could effectively complete the course over 2-3 days or plan to tackle a module per week for 6 weeks (about 2-3 hours per week) or per month for 6 months.

 

Each module will consist of 2-6 lessons with a mixture of short videos, insight-generating exercises and examples.

Videos are around 1-9 minutes long. There is a total of 3 hours worth of video over the entire 6 modules. 

 

Each exercise has templates you can access using Google Docs that give you the flexibility to use your own paper and the templates as a guide, download and print the templates or fill out the templates in your web browser. 

At any time you have questions or require further clarification you can post in the online discussion board for coaching guidance, this feature is here to give you the support and confidence to apply the strategies to your business with ease.

Hi everyone, I'm Libby!

 

I am a degree-qualified marketer with over 20 years of experience, 6 as a marketing coach, I am a small business owner, co-founder of a tech start-up and a spiritual enterprise and a mum-of-two. 🤓

 

I created Thrive Marketing in 2014 because I was frustrated with the lack of ethics in my industry and I saw things were changing. With a more conscious consumer, the usual persuasive marketing tactics started working against companies. And they always felt yuck to me anyway. I wanted to be a more active part of the solution, creating a better world for the humans I love and the planet we share. 🥰

 

I have always loved marketing but what matters is creating meaningful products, services and communications that truly resonate with our audiences. And creating businesses that have a heart and a 'why'. What I noticed is the businesses that are doing this, are becoming the fastest growing businesses with the best culture and having the greatest impact.

Frequently asked questions

What if I just want to jump straight into learning marketing tactics to advertise my business?


You can do this, if fact, most businesses do. But it is highly recommended that you get the fundamentals right before you continue to do the tactics. If you aren’t confident in your strategy then you might find it harder to implement marketing techniques like Facebook marketing, creating a compelling website or writing flyers that work. Or more likely, without getting the foundations right, your proposition may not be compelling enough no matter how good your marketing content is. It’s your purpose, point of difference, benefits and the entire proposition that makes your tactics work. Once you get these right, the rest will be much easier.




Does it matter what stage my business is in?


No. What matters is that you are ready to make the most of it. The strategies you learn will be applicable no matter where you are in your business journey.




What if I already have marketing materials or a website. Will I need to change them?


If you have an established business that already has a website, Facebook page and marketing material that’s okay. It doesn’t mean you’ll need to re-do everything, but you will learn things that will help you enhance what you’ve got, so expect you might be inspired to make some changes.




What if I am just about to get a website built or create some ads?


If you are about to get a website built I would recommend you do the course before you build a website, if time permits. If you can’t wait, then just know that you will learn some things that will help you next time.




What if I don’t have a business yet, just a business idea?


If you are ready to take your business idea to the next level then this is a fantastic way to start getting you into the market and launching with a powerful proposition. But it does depend on the type of business and what stage of concept development you are. This course is not a business planning course so there are aspects that are not covered, for example, product conception, outlining revenue streams, cost structures and legal considerations that depending on your business idea, might be necessary. What if I don’t have a business and I’m just really interested in learning marketing?


That’s great that you want to learn marketing, however, you really need a business or business idea for this particular program.




What if I have a business partner?


In an ideal world, you would both be involved in the program if you are both involved in anything marketing related. If you have a partner or other person employed within the business who will be involved in your marketing, then you can purchase a second login at 50% off the full price. If this isn’t possible, then I would encourage the person who is doing the course to share their learnings with their business partner so they get on board with your marketing strategy.




What if I am not the person who is ‘doing’ the marketing e.g. writing the ads or managing our Facebook account?


Employees, contractors and even family members who help can come and go. The responsibility of a business’s performance lies with the owner or owners. Because marketing is a huge part of a business's performance, it’s essential to understand the fundamentals of your marketing strategy yourself. But most importantly, I believe that the owners of a business are likely the most knowledgeable when it comes to your product, benefits, market, competition and especially your vision and purpose. Which means you are the most appropriate person/s to work on your strategy. You can brief the people who are working on the marketing channels with the things you learn in this program. What is the content and the course structure like?


It’s a mixture of presenting concepts with examples and exercises to prompt your own insights and understanding of the strategy. Once we've talked through a new strategy you'll need to spend some time working through the exercise template. You can do this online - on the digital template created (using google docs) or print it out if you prefer a hard copy. You will also be encouraged to use the discussion board to ask questions and/or present your insights so others can offer their perspective, helping you mould your strategy throughout the course.




Will there be any homework?


Yes. Each module has 1-3 exercises, some exercises will just be questions to prompt insights for your own learning, others will be more in depth designed to create something that will be part of your marketing strategy. Without the work then it's not a course, simply a series of ideas - which still may be useful to you - it's up to you. When it comes to an exercise that has an end result (like your ‘story’ on your website or benefit bullets on a flyer), I would encourage you tp continue to polish this after the course. With any writing, each draft gets better and better. As your mind evolves into that of a marketer (and it will throughout this process) then you will see things more clearly each time you tackle them. Often my first draft hardly resembles my final but it is always crucial in the development of my thinking process.

Will I create any actual marketing material whilst on this course?


Although in this course you won't specifically be writing your own marketing content or collateral, once you have completed these steps and have created a powerful and unique proposition you will find it far easier to write or revamp your brochure, flyer, website and other marketing tactics you choose to use. Previous participants say they get more of an understanding of what type of marketing 'channels' (e.g. Facebook advertising, Website, flyers) they should use and more clarity in what they can say.
